There are ways to teach your child about things that he needs to know. Of course you want your child to learn how to talk, walk, speak and use the potty. Eventually, these things cannot be taught all at once. You have to teach him slowly one by one to make sure that he will understand very well and be able to learn fast. Even applying things in a slow pace will make him grasp it.
Let us talk about the using of potty. You might presume that since it involves a whole lot of props and consequences, it will not be easy to make him learn that fast. This is contrary to what we will be telling you about. It takes no more than one week to complete the potty training. Here are some tips that you ought to know to be able to train your child for only three days:
>Be equipped. It is essential that both you and your child are physically and mentally prepared before the start of the training. Anticipate resistance during the process. Do not be ready as if you are about to force him. Just be equipped on the first day.
>Familiarization. On the second day you can start the familiarity stage. You can do this by showing your child the potty and introduce it to him that whenever he needs to go, he can use the potty for urinating and bowel movement. Make sure that you cheerfully do this and not desperately. Meaning, show some enthusiasm in showing it to him. Do this every minute or so until he will get familiar with it and will appear to be harmless.
>Diaper-free. Make sure that by the day before the training you have already made him wear underwear and not diaper. This will make him use the potty every now and then.
>Encouragement. Never stop encouraging your child before or during potty training. This will give him a boost of security and comfort that he is doing the right thing and should continue doing it. It is not necessary that you give him too much reward or praises. It is enough that you pat his back and give him a smile. You can say, “Very good” as well. He will remember this the whole time and will even use the potty again and again if needed.
Once you have done all these there is no doubt that by the end of the third day your child will learn how to potty. You need not worry a thing for as long as you have done well.
Potty training can be effortless if you follow these tips. Always be advanced and organized when it comes to teaching your child the things that he should know. Do not step into the battlefield without a plan. You will never know what will happen but you can anticipate it through observation and study with your child’s actions and attitude.

There are instances where a child has no problem urinating in the potty but when he starts to feel like pooping, he refuses to use the potty. Your child may be afraid to go to the potty and will ask for pull-ups on a daily basis before he poops. This is not the ideal training however you can turn it into one so that even while wearing pull-ups, he is learning the process of using the potty.
Here are some problems you might encounter and followed with it are solutions:
* Your child poops everywhere but when he urinates, he does it in the potty. He is resistant in going to the potty. He makes a shy face. You see the fear in his eyes whether you ask him to go to the potty or not. What should you do then?
Well, the best thing to do about the pull-ups request is to allow him wearing one. When he already poops, remove the pull-ups and place the poop inside the potty. Show him what you are doing so that he will have an idea what is the purpose of the potty. Explain why you are doing this and tell him that it will be better if he is the one who sits on it.
Most parents think that extreme punishment and discipline will make their children use the potty. Well, it will not. With regard to fear and shyness, may be it is caused by the tone of your voice o
r the look in your face. Show him some enthusiastic look like a smile and make your tone soft. This will encourage him. If you continue to portray an approachable personality, he will not hesitate to ask you to guide him to the potty.
* Your child holds his poop with his hands and throws it anywhere he likes.
You can deal with this by leading him to the bathroom every time he poops. It is not necessary that he sits on the toilet seat. Pooping at the corner of the bathroom is a fresh start. Allow him to do this so that at least he knows that when he is about to poop, he has to go to the bathroom and not somewhere else.
While in the bathroom, tell him not to hold and throw his poop because it is dirty and that the bathroom will take care of it all. You can read him stories or make funny faces to enlighten his mood.
* You observed that your child is holding his bowel movement and waits until it will accidentally fall off from his underwear.
This can cause constipation, which you should avoid. You may make him wear pull-ups but put a hole on it then make him sit on the toilet seat while holding him. A simple sit on the seat without pooping will also train him to use the potty. Encourage him all the time. There is nothing more effective in potty training than a smile and encouragement from you mom and dad.

Have you ever wondered when to start potty training your child? You might think that at three years old, he is very ready to potty but then, it is the other way around. You might also think that through forcing or punishing him, he will immediately obey you. This is not ideal for any child of any age. Try reading through our article and get some proper and practical ways to determine when to start potty training.
First of all, put in mind that your child’s physique is fragile and his mind is still playful. All a child does is play, eat and sleep. He is not aware of his responsibility to go to the potty. You are the one who should be teaching him this gradually. However, how are you going to determine when to start potty training?
Well, you should not base it on his age. Age is not the factor in determining whether you can start the training or not. Others are fast learners even below ages two and three. So as much as possible, start it as soon as you see that your child is able to understand what is a potty. When the child shows that he is interested in using the potty that is the time you will start. Do not start too early and do not start too late. When you start too early he might hesitate and panic and if you start too late he might resist it and you will start all over again too late than planned.
You can also start when you see that he shows that he is comfortable having the potty around. If he starts observing the potty and even sits on it without crying then you just hit your jackpot. This goes to show that he is ready. You may then get started.
If you are dedicated to teach your child to use the potty, you will go through everything and find every means and ways to accomplish it. You should always think and consider the interest of your child when teaching him this sort of things. Things we are referring to are those that will teach him to grow. Do things that will surely enhance his well-being. He will never be complete if he goes out to the world not ready and equipped by your teachings.
Once your child is equipped and well-taught, he will be able to independently do things and will even willingly perform his little responsibility of going to the potty. Just have a good time in doing this and always be reminded that in potty training your child, do not start too early or too late. Apply a moderate approach and be good parents to your child. This will even make the training easy to comply with. Good luck and enjoy!
