Make sure that you are able to watch and guide him to the potty. Any trouble that might occur, you are surely there to help him out. This will make him trust you as his mentor during potty time.

Once your little boy gets used to using the potty, reward and encourage him regularly. Do not spoil him, though. The moment you acknowledge the importance of toilet training for boys, you will absolutely achieve the toilet training and he will know how to potty all by himself.
